Pius UwamanuaPius Uwamanua, IntraHealth International, Preservice Education Manager, Nigeria
Pius Uwamanua has over nine years of work experience with both local and international organizations. Before joining IntraHealth, Pius worked with several international organizations including Volunteering Service Overseas, Family Health International (now FHI360), and Save the Children UK. His most recent post was with Management Sciences for Health as a senior program officer in the USAID/PEPFAR-funded Community-Based Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CUBS) project. While at Management Sciences for Health, Pius coordinated and led the state team and activities on orphans and vulnerable children programming, building the capacity of government ministries and civil society organizations. He also led the development of a strategic sustainability document for the project. In addition to having completed various trainings within and outside Nigeria, he is a trained reproductive and maternal health fellow of the MacArthur Foundation and Pathfinder International Emerging Leadership Development Program (2005–2007).
