Maurice I. MiddlebergMaurice I. Middleberg, IntraHealth International, Director
Maurice Middleberg has over 27 years of experience in the field of global health as an advocate, analyst, senior executive, teacher, and writer. In addition to directing CapacityPlus, Middleberg serves as IntraHealth’s vice president for global policy and provides leadership to the organization’s advocacy for evidence-based global health policy, with a special focus on the global health workforce crisis. He brings to these roles an acute understanding of the needs, constraints, and opportunities facing health workers as they serve their communities. Prior to joining IntraHealth, Middleberg served as vice president for public policy at the Global Health Council, executive vice president at EngenderHealth, health director for CARE, visiting assistant professor at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, director of the Population Policy Program at the Futures Group, and population program coordinator for USAID/Niger. He is a political scientist by training and the author of numerous publications.
