CapacityPlus Associate Partner Presents International Conference on Family Planning

Partners in Population and Development and the government of Indonesia are convening the International Conference on Promoting Family Planning and Maternal Health for Poverty Alleviation in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, October 26–27.

Partners in Population and Development is an associate partner in CapacityPlus.

Demonstration at a health center in KenyaPape Gaye, president and CEO of IntraHealth International (lead partner of CapacityPlus) will speak at the conference about the priority investments that allow governments to build stronger health systems, expand the health workforce, and guarantee women’s access to family planning and maternal health care.

By bringing together government officials as well as civil society representatives, this conference aims to secure greater investments in family planning in developing countries. Organizers hope to reinforce commitments to South-South cooperation that advance the agendas set by the International Conference on Population and Development and the Millennium Development Goals.

Participants from 27 countries include senior government officials such as ministers of health, population, or social development, as well as representatives from the United Nations, World Health Organization, World Bank, and other international organizations.
